Worship for the Week
We will continue to use best practices and adjust our schedule as guidelines from the CDC, the Commonwealth of VA, and the VA Conference of the UMC continue to be updated. Based on current guidance from the CDC, all persons, ages 2 and above must wear a mask at all times indoors. If outdoors and distanced, masks may be removed.
**Weather Notice**
Please note that in the event of inclement weather, our outdoor worship at 9:00 will move inside to the sanctuary. Children and Youth Sunday School will also be moved inside, but please plan to still start with worship and they will then depart after the Children's Moment. Masks are required while indoors at all times.
Current Worship Schedule
  • Sunday, 9:00 am - Outdoor and Drive-in Worship
  • Sunday, 10:30 am - Indoor Worship in the Sanctuary
  • Continue to Worship from Home during the week
Children will begin in worship at both 9:00 and 10:30 and after the Children's Moment have the opportunity to go to Sunday School during the 9:00 worship and C.O.W. (Children's Own Worship-ages 3 and above) during the 10:30 worship. Weather permitting, they will meet outdoors near the Chapel Building. Rain plan would be to move inside the Chapel or Education Building. Faithcare (Nursery-ages under 3) - is available during both the 9:00 and 10:30 am worship in the Education Building, Room 111.

**Important Reminder for the Day of Worship**

On the day of worship, take your temperature. If you have a fever above 100.4 degrees, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, sore throat, headache, muscle pain, GI issues, chills, or new loss of taste or smell, please enjoy the opportunity to worship from home. Please contact the pastor if you would like to have a prayer time together.

Finding Your Joy at Shady Grove

Are you wondering about all of the programs and ministries that go on at Shady Grove? Do you wonder how you could be more connected? Maybe it is a one day mission opportunity in our community, a bible study, decorating the church for holidays, maintenance and repair work on our church property or serving through prayers and ministering to fellow church members. These opportunities and more are great ways that you can serve and grow in your faith journey at Shady Grove. We want to help you “FIND YOUR JOY” at Shady Grove. We have fellow members that would love to talk to you about how to be more connected. To learn more, please click HERE.

Altar Flower Calendar

Thanks to all who have provided altar flowers for our outdoor worship. There are a few weeks available in the next few months to place flowers in memory, honor or celebration of a person or special milestone. We have a long standing community relationship with local florist Coleman Brothers which helps to keep cost at $22.00 for the flowers. You may sign up on REALM to select a date.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

For those needing God’s encouragement, Prayer Shawls are available to share. A shawl can be picked up either at worship the last Sunday of the month or at the church office during the week. EMAIL Dana or call the office to make arrangements to pickup at the office. Crafted with care and wrapped and bagged for safety, a prayer shawl is an expression of care for those in need of comfort and a reminder that they are in thoughts and prayers.
