Our goal is to make disciples through mission through hands on ministry and service, generous giving, creation care, and efforts to address systemic issues.

SGUMC provides hands on ministry to and via groups such as:

  • Sewing Seeds
  • Shalom Farms
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • FeedMore
  • Youth mission trips with Youth Works
  • Adult mission trips with Appalachian Service Projects
  • Salvation Army bell ringers

SGUMC supports the local groups below through donations of goods and services:

  • Welborne UMC Food Pantry
  • Young Lives
  • Strategies To Elevate People (STEP)
  • Hope House
  • Congregations Around Richmond To Assure Shelter (CARITAS)
  • Butterflies 4 Smiles

SGUMC offers generous giving throughout the US and internationally through:

  • Operation Christmas Child
