Presented by the Music and Arts Ministries
December 11-13, 2009
Invite your family and friends to our 2009 Christmas “musical drama” presentation,
A Baby Changes Everything by Celeste and David Clydesdale.
A Baby Changes Everything will be presented four times:
Friday, December 11th: 7:00 PM
Saturday, December 12th: 7:00 PM
Sunday, December 13th: 9:30 and 11:00 AM
Joining this ‘musical drama” presentation will be our sanctuary & guest orchestra, children, and drama.
“A Baby Changes Everything” tells the story of three imagined, troubled seekers who almost slept through the first Christmas and the children who woke them in time to experience the life-changing miracle of the Incarnation.
Have we become another Bethlehem? Who will miss the Savior’s coming again this Christmas? Will we “wake up” ourselves and others to lead and be led through the dark night to the everlasting Light in a Bethlehem manger? “Arranger David Clydesdale has framed this ancient/modern tale with his signature musical power and elegance, as new songs from Casting Crowns and Faith Hill mix with beloved carols and original theatrical songs of testimony, to bring the Biblical Christmas story into a bold contemporary focus. The challenge is clear, the theme is timeless, and the time is now: Will we go down in history as a people with no room for their King?”- Deborah Craig-Claar
Welcome to Shady Grove’s Music and Arts Ministries!
On behalf of the Music and Arts Ministries at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, I would like to extend to you the opportunity to find your place of service in the many choirs and ensembles for children, youth, and adults that are offered. It is my hope that once you find “your place of PURPOSE,” you will be encouraged to discover the ways that the music and arts ministries can enhance both your spiritual life and help you grow in your faith. Whether vocal choirs or small ensembles, instrumental or handbell, interpretive movement or drama, traditional, blended, or contemporary, there is a place for you to serve God!

We believe that music and creative arts ministries are powerful ways to worship and serve in building God’s kingdom. It is our hope that opportunities in the music and arts ministries at Shady Grove will not only offer to others a stronger relationship with Christ but will ignite each person to “go and make disciples,” to spread the news of Jesus’ love, hope, joy, and peace. There are opportunities for persons of all ages, from three years old through adults, to join a choir, bell or instrumental group; to participate in dramatic readings, skits, liturgical movement or sign language; or offer talents of drawing, crafts, photography, or other fine arts.
