COVID-19 Relief Fund Assistance Request
and Contributions Information

Acts 2: 42-47 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as any had need.  Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has put many people in difficult situations due to business cut backs, closings and job losses. Many of our members have expressed interest in helping fellow members by contributing to a fund to help those experiencing these circumstances. A few have mentioned donating their stimulus checks from the federal government to help those in our congregation being hit hard by the pandemic.

With this in mind, we are setting up a COVID-19 Relief Fund within our Benevolence Fund. If our members are feeling pressure on utility bills, buying food or other living expenses, your church wants to help.

Contributions:  You can make donations to this fund by whatever means you normally use to make your donations to the church (checks, electronic giving, etc.). Please note on your donation that this goes to the COVID-19 Relief Fund. All donations are tax deductible and will be included in your giving statements. These donations should be “2nd mile” giving over and above your normal giving to the church. Click HERE to give through Realm.

APPLYING FOR ASSISTANCE: If you need some help, you may complete the request form by clicking HERE. Questions? Contact Frank Basil by phone at (804) 360-2600 or EMAIL. All requests will be reviewed by a small sub-committee of our Church Council and held in confidence. You will be contacted with responses within 24-48 hours.

If we are blessed with more contributions than needs, we will look to use the excess funds to help other organizations serving those in need in Richmond and the surrounding counties during this difficult time or to address COVID-19 related expenses that we will experience within our worship services as we move into a “new normal”.

We are all facing challenging times based on this health crisis. Everyone’s circumstances are unique and whether you choose to contribute or seek assistance is a personal decision. Regardless, your church family is here to help. If you need prayers, conversations with a person that cares and will listen, professional counseling and/or financial help, please let Frank know and he will manage our resources to help.
