“She was a single mother with a five-year-old son and a ton of bills. Just to stay afloat, she rented a musty, cramped camper at a local RV park. She was embarrassed and discouraged by her surroundings. She cringed one day as she overheard someone ask her little boy if he wished they had a real home. But her grimace was replaced with a tear and a smile when she heard him give this reply: 'We do have a real home; we just don’t have a house to put it in.' "

Shady Grove UMC is our ‘real’ home and we are a family. Inside its buildings are the hearts and spirit of those who love Christ. But those bricks and sheetrock, doors and windows and an array of furnishings need attention – and our tender loving care. It is not practical or possible that we hire 100% of the upkeep to our beautiful home.
“It is a privilege and a responsibility to take care of your church. The question may sometimes arise as to how exactly you should care for your place of worship. It goes beyond simply keeping it clean, although that is important. You want to make sure your church is as inviting as the people who congregate in it each week.” (www.ehow.com)
