Beanie Brown Kelly, Director of Children's Ministries

Beanie enjoys her work as Director of Children’s Ministries after a 20+ year career in Christian Education. Beanie has an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Journalism Advertising. Her Master’s in Education is from Virginia Commonwealth University. Beanie also has a post baccalaureate certificate in human resource development.

Beanie has two children, Paul (age 19) and Caran (age 17). Paul is a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Caran is a senior at James River High School. Together they enjoy the beach, their three cats, their dog, sports, movies, and video games.

An avid Tarheel basketball fan, Beanie tries to watch as many games as possible (some have to be taped). Beanie has led a clown troupe, The Colorful Ones, for over 20 years. She enjoys drama, pantomime, and creative movement.

Beanie embraces the verse “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” (Luke 2:10) She finds Christ’s love and joy throughout her experiences and enthusiastically wants to share that with others.
